So-called actor Alec Baldwin hinted at a 2020 presidential run in a tweet on Monday. Baldwin said if he ran for president, it would be "so easy" to beat President Donald Trump in 2020.
"If I ran for President, would you vote for me? I won’t ask you for any $. And I promise I will win. Beating Trump would be so easy. So easy. So easy," he wrote.
Baldwin, who plays President Trump for "Saturday Night Live," claimed he would beat Trump on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show last June.
"If I ran, I would win. I would absolutely win," Baldwin said. Baldwin said if he ran, the 2020 election would be "the funniest, most exciting, most crazy campaign." This comes days after Baldwin called Trump "lazy, corrupt, neurologically impaired, and confused" in a tweet. "Trump is lazy, corrupt, neurologically impaired. But he must also be quite confused. He believes the world is, or should be, as the set of The Apprentice, where he is paid handsomely 4 doing very little. And that all of his hatred/bad behavior will be shelved by Mark Burnett," he wrote. Trump fired back against Baldwin in March 2018. "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and far greater talent," Trump wrote.
