President Donald Trump is considering using an executive order to add a citizenship question on the 2020 census, according to Axios.
The Trump Administration is currently looking into the legality of the executive order and if it would qualify for a "constitutional need." This comes after the Supreme Court voted 5-4 on the citizenship question, thanks to Chief Justice John Roberts voting with the liberal justices. The ruling sent the case to a lower court. "So important for our Country that the very simple and basic “Are you a Citizen of the United States?” question be allowed to be asked in the 2020 Census. Department of Commerce and the Department of Justice are working very hard on this, even on the 4th of July," Trump wrote.
