President Donald Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S. southern border to get $8 billion in funding for the border wall on Friday. Democrats have resorted to begging Republicans to abandon Trump and vote against him.
"If the GOP fails to stand up to Trump's unconstitutional act, we will have moved dangerously from a separation of powers to a mere separation of parties," Rep. Adam Schiff said.
Hated Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar, who married her brother, joined in, writing, "I hope every Member of Congress will join us in halting Trump’s power grab."
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi threw a temper tantrum, writing a string of six tweets. She urged Republicans to "join us to defend the Constitution."
Due to these stubborn Democrats who want open borders, Trump resorted to declaring a national emergency to fund $8 billion of the border wall.
According to Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, Trump will use $1.4 billion for the wall from the bill that was passed by Congress. Trump will also use $600 million in Treasury forfeiture funds and $2.5 billion in Defense Department counter-drug funds. Lastly, Trump will use $3.6 billion of funds set aside for military construction projects. “I am going to be signing a national emergency. It’s a great thing to do because we have an invasion of drugs, invasion of gangs, invasion of people,” Trump said. "I could do the wall over a long period of time. I didn’t need to do this, but I’d rather do it much faster,” Trump added.
