Losing Democrat Saria Rao Has 'Given Up On White People'

   A Democrat who lost in a race for Congress, Saira Rao, said she has "given up on white people” due to her loss, only recieving 31% of the Democratic primary vote. When Rao announced her run, she stated she was going to "hake up the status-quo and actually fight for equity.” But she lost to Rep. DeGette, who has held the seat for over 21 years.

  Sairo Rao said on twitter, "Should I Give Up on White People? Short and long answer: YES." After a backlash, Rao stood by her tweet, "I stand by it. It’s incumbent on white people and not people of color to solve it. Just as it’s incumbent on men to solve sexism."
