Republican Rep. Doug Collins demanded New York Rep. Jerry Nadler "immediately" invite special counsel Robert Mueller to testify before Congress.
"If you seek both transparencies and for the American public to learn the full contours of the special counsel’s investigation, public testimony from Mueller himself is undoubtedly the best way to accomplish this goal," Collins wrote. “I urge you to do the right thing, follow the law, and invite the Special Counsel to testify before the Committee immediately," he added. "Attorney General Barr was never a part of this investigation, and instead simply reviewed the Special Counsel’s final report and has provided Congress, so far, with the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions," Collins said. Collins recommended the hearings occur on the week of April 22. The Department of Justice released a four-page letter to Capitol Hill lawmakers on Sunday. Attorney General William Barr said special counsel Robert Mueller found no collusion between the Trump's presidential campaign and Russia in 2016. "The special counsel's investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its effort," Barr wrote.
