President Donald Trump slammed the late Senator John McCain at the White House on Tuesday. Reporters asked Trump why he attacked McCain on Twitter days prior.
To which Trump said, "I was never a fan of John McCain and I never will be. I’m very unhappy that he didn’t repeal and replace Obamacare as you know, he campaigned on repealing and replacing Obamacare for years."
"And then he got to a vote and he said thumbs down. I think that’s disgraceful, plus there were other things," Trump added.
Trump wrote on Twitter four days ago, "Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier 'is, unfortunately, a very dark stain against John McCain.' Ken Starr, Former Independent Counsel," Trump wrote.
"He had far worse 'stains' than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace," Trump added. The View co-host and John McCain's daughter Meghan McCain claimed "no one will ever love" President Donald Trump "the way they loved" her late father Sen. John McCain.
"No one will ever love you the way they loved my father…. I wish I had been given more Saturday’s with him. Maybe spend yours with your family instead of on twitter obsessing over mine," she wrote on Twitter.
