President Donald Trump ditched Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the middle of meeting for being a "total waste of time."
Once Pelosi made clear the Democrats refuse to fund the wall, Trump left.
"Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works," Trump tweeted.
Trump has repeatedly said if he can't make a deal with the Democrats and pass funding he will declare a national emergency to fund the construction of the wall without the Congress.
"I have the absolute right to do a national emergency if I want," Trump said. We can call a national emergency. I haven't done it. I may do it. I may do it," Trump said. "We can call a national emergency and build it very quickly. It's another way of doing it," Trump added.
