​WATCH: McConnell Exposes Real Reason Why Dems Impeached Trump, Pronounces Impeachment DEAD

    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told a room of reporters on Wednesday the real reason the Democrats pulled the impeachment of President Donald Trump stunt was to prevent Trump victories by clogging the Senate.

    "The president has his highest approval rating since he's been in office. I can tell you as a poll watcher ... every one of our people in tough races is in better shape today than they were before the impeachment trial started," McConnell said. 

    "I think this was a thoroughly political exercise from the beginning to the end," McConnell said.
    
    "It was really about not the president ... but about trying to take the Senate," he said.
  
    "You know that what I'm here to talk about today is the political impact of this. I think that's what we've just dealt with for three weeks," McConnell said. 

    "We've listened. We've voted. We've had a number of internal meetings. ... It's time to move on. This decision has been made," he added. 
 
"The consequences of it in terms of the future are up to the voters of the country to decide who they want to lead the government," he added. ​
