During Monday’s press briefing, Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the Trump administration is pleased to see Democrats finally accept the spending deal the president laid out from the very beginning. She claimed the agreement is very similar to the initial proposal, and stressed the importance of funding the country’s military and vulnerable children. She added, the president is happy Democrats have come to their senses and agreed to take up immigration as a separate matter, because keeping American’s safe is his biggest concern. “Look, the president’s number one focus is our national security,” said Sanders. “He’s been very strong on discussing the need for border security and tying that directly to national security…that’s a big focus of both the president’s campaign at the time and also since he’s become president.”
