 1,000 more miles of border wall has been secured by President Donald Trump in a new 2021 budget proposal including $2 billion for border wall construction, according to Politico. "This request is based on what’s required to gain operational control of the border,” a senior administration official told Politico. “Since taking office, President Trump has prioritized funding for a border wall. With funding available, the administration will build up to approximately 1,000 miles of border wall along the southwest border," the official added. The White House released President Trump's $4.8-trillion budget proposal on Sunday that slashes $4.4 trillion in spending, funding for foreign aid, and social safety nets. The budget includes $2 billion for a southern border wall, more funding for NASA, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Homeland Security. Under Trump's budget, the federal deficit would shrivel to $966 billion next fiscal year and to $261 billion by 2030. "The plan aims to eliminate the federal deficit -- or the difference between spending and revenue that is slated to exceed $1 trillion this year -- by 2035," Fox News reported.
